My artistic practice is an ongoing investigation highlighting the complexities and discourses of our contemporary culture. The themes that emerge on a recurring basis in my work are technology, mass production, and commodity.
This installation piece explores the issues of education and influence on young minds. The classroom as a site where the mind can wander to the writing on desks and the imaginary world of video games. As entertainment has invaded the home in the form of TV and computer games, it is very interesting to see the nature of violence and how children consciously or unconsciously visualize the impact it has had on their lives. This installation with monitors/TVs framed with different pixilated images involve violence and game culture made by different age groups. These images project on the whiteboard and print on the school desks as it is an overwhelming presence in the educational space. This piece uses the actual setting of the classroom to reveal how children are educated by TV and computer games nowadays.
