Patrica Butchart started painting in 1972 and after raising her three children began a successful career in real estate in Ottawa, Ontario. Butchart earned the ReMax “Hall of Fame Award” in 1996, and after moving to Vancouver, B.C. in the same year she started on a life long dream of returning to school. In 2004, she received her Fine Arts Diploma from Langara College and in 2007 she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Emily Carr Institute. Butchart’s style has changed many times over the past 35 years, and she has worked in oils and watercolors but prefers the fluid nature of acrylics. Painting has enabled her to be creative and expressive and always playful.
