In the twentieth century, there has been an increasing obsession with self-image modification. The mass media sets up certain ideals as their standard and brainwashes people into buying the idea. The body expressions become less and less the reflection of the inner side of the person; the connection between the self-image and the self is lost. This satire on the artificial display of the self and depersonalization of genuine body expressions allows people to examine their self-presentation and to connect with genuine self-expressions that have been suppressed.
