The adventures of Missy Sooskeh is a children’s book that shows a female in the Iranian society and her journey to find a true love, one who respects her and doesn’t try to dominate over her. It also shows that an Iranian woman has the right to make her own decisions and live independently.
By bringing this folktale to North America, my goal is to overcome some of the stereotypes from incorrect translations and getting wrong messages from the story. It also points out about marriage in Iran, which in North America is known as very restricted. However, it all depends on the family and their beliefs.
