With a continuously growing population of singles, traditional gender roles and stereotypes are constantly evolving and changing. Based on a number of personal observations and experiences, I set out to explore these gender roles and challenge the traditional stereotypes in our society. With the assumption that gender only partially originates in biology and can be taught, I wanted to develop a way to educate single women on how to tackle stereotypical male roles as well as the opposite. The result is these two books or “how-to guides”, one for single men and one for women, playing on humor and sarcasm to educate both sexes through a series of daily tasks, such as doing laundry and hosting a dinner party for men and replacing a tire and fixing leaky sinks for women.
